Who we are…

In 2011 Mushroom Pictures entered a joint venture with Morrissey Molloy Entertainment. This partnership represents a new stage in the company’s creation of dynamic Australian and international content.

MICHAEL GUDINSKI AM

Company Director

He’s been called the rock guru, the music mogul, the mushroom man, and is widely recognised as one of the most important figures in the history of the Australian entertainment industry. Irrefutably he is a man of many faces and his many business interests reflect the multiple facets of both his personality and his talents.

In 1972 Michael founded Mushroom Records, which was to eventually develop into the largest independent record label in Australian music – and Mushroom Music, which is today the principal independent publishing company in Australia.

Through Mushroom Pictures, Michael has been the executive producer of a number of successful and award winning films and documentaries. Recently he was the executive producer of Such is Life: The Troubled Times of Ben Cousins, nominated for a Logie for Most Outstanding Factual Program in 2011.

MARK MORRISSEY

Company Director

Mark comes from a strong background in both production and professional management. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Mark was involved in touring theatre and solo acts both nationally and internationally. In the late 1990s, he set up Morrissey Management and in a very short time built the business into one of the most successful and entrepreneurial management companies in the country. In 2001, he went international, opening offices in Los Angeles. He also produced a number of shows for Australian television networks 7 and 10, as well as appearing as a judge on channel 9′s Starstruck. Mark has continued to be an industry leader in talent management and television production on both the local and international stage.
